ABOUT THIS TRAINING
Level 1 is your gateway into the SOFT method, designed for practitioners of all backgrounds who want to integrate fascia-informed, embodied healing into their work with clients. This training introduces you to the core principles and practices of SOFT, blending science, safety, and inclusivity. You’ll gain practical tools to support clients with trauma, tension, and barriers to intimacy—while laying the foundation for advanced study if you choose to deepen your practice.
What You’ll Learn:
The fundamentals of fascia: what it is, how it stores trauma, and why it matters for healing
The SOFT framework: Sensing, Opening, Feeling, and Transformation—how each stage works and when to use them
How to introduce fascia-informed work to your existing practice, whether you’re in mental health, yoga, bodywork, or coaching
Safety and consent essentials: creating embodied safety, establishing boundaries, and honoring client readiness
Basics of trauma-informed care: understanding the nervous system, stress responses, and the “window of tolerance”
How trauma, stress, and life experiences become woven into the body—overview of somatic memory
An introduction to sexuality and intimacy in somatic healing (for all identities and relationship styles)
Basic techniques for guiding clients in body awareness, self-sensing, and gentle fascia release—always within professional scope
How to spot red flags and know when to refer out (scope of practice, contraindications)
Working with cultural humility: honoring diverse bodies, identities, and lived experiences
Overview of working with neurodivergent clients, chronic pain, and body-based shame (with pointers toward advanced Level 2 training)
The difference between SOFT and other somatic or body-based modalities
